  1. That's my fear... I start the RN program in January so I enrolled in a CNA program at a local community college I feel that I have no background in the nursing field and would like a preview of what my first semester will look like. I also want to start working in the field since my current job most likely will not work with my future schedule. I am thinking of applying for per diem weekend/nights position while I am in nursing school. Awwww the struggle begins!
  2. Yes received via myecc email Thanks:)
  3. Sorry to hear... I am sure you'll got something soon, maybe it's a good thing. My letter wasn't good. I didn't meet their point system and I am not in the nursing field... thank god i got accepted elsewhere. Good luck in your journey.
  4. Emails were sent... good luck guys!
  5. So excited mandatory Orientation next week June 22... who's ready. Has anyone ever been there? Nervous about it.
  6. Hello... look into LBCC they offer an LVN program but you have to have a CNA License... best of luck.
  7. Thank you for posting... good luck at Southwest.... best wishes in your journey.
  8. Yes it doesn't hurt to call. Good luck hopefully you receive good news.
  9. Fyi my letter was dated May 8 and arrived Friday. Did you receive one? If you didn't maybe call just in case it got lost in mail (things happen). There's a few deadlines and instructions to schedule teas. I would had preferred an email! good luck guys!
  10. Congrats yes! I will definitely be there.
  11. Welcome to Facebook I joined this amazing group They gave me so many tip and I passed my teas exam on my first try. I already ordered my transcripts to get sent over to Cerritos since they are due by May 26 if you took the teas already. I also purchased the study guide from the Amazon prime (the original) which really didn't help me! What helped me was the practice test A and B from the TEAS site, best investment (under $100). It prepares you to take the real TEAS. The format is the same and the feedback is helpful and instant after answering a question. You can exit and come back to the test. But I recommend that you take your 2nd try at least a week part and that you complete the full length on your 2nd try. It's an amazing tool. Create your TEAS log in asap! After completing my first practice test, I was able to cross reference my weekest subjects with my science and math books... this really prepared me for the entire system and the test became easier to read and eliminate answers that had nothing to do with what they are asking. English was easier for me for some reason so I concentrate on my weakest subjects. But just go back to your books the teas study guide only has the topics and subjects you should be studying in depth on a book regardless. Other great tool: app that helped me review while I was away from my books. if you have extra budget! TEAS mastery Your books are your best friends! Get a new notebook and review everything! You get 1-4 questions from what is a long bone to the hardest thing you can imagine. Good look to everyone.
  12. The mandatory orientation is coming up That's usually where they discuss that.
  13. OMG I just arrived home to the best mothers day gift, ever! An acceptance letter contingent to passing the TEAS! I already passed the TEAS so I am over the moon! You guys know more than anyone how hard this journey is, how much sacrifice, and dedication it takes. It is not over yet, but I am so ready to start Spring 2018. God/the universe is good! For those of you who did not get in this time, do not give up! keep working hard. If I would have gotten in last year or early this year I would not have made it in the program my life was all over the place. I am finally done with BS in my life and learned to pay no attention to the little things that bother me. I learned to prioritize, to work hard, and study hard! Disconnect from all the problems that are in my life and will never be completely eliminated. Life has a funny way of rewarding your sacrifices at the perfect time, when the time is right! DON'T give up! Learn from your mistakes! See you guys soon!
  14. I'm am still waiting for the mail. Hopefully some good news come our way. Good luck... nursing programs truly need to be reformed to accommodate more students
  15. Thank you Yes I am lucky to live in CA. I appreciate your feedback. It's scary when you think about all the for profit universities out there, but that's one thing That attracted me to WGU that they r NP and their counselors don't get paid based on commissions
