Failed out of college, do I still have a chance? SUNY orange nursing
So sorry to hear about what happened, I can't imagine what that was like at all but I pray you find peace. As for nursing, I definitely think you have a shot! Are you applying to a BSN program or an accelerated program? Don't worry about your failing grades, if you have retaken the courses and gotten a high grade I've heard that admissions likes to see you worked hard and succeeded the 2nd time around. Many programs don't require essays but you can submit one as a supplement to your application or some schools will ask for an explanation as to why your GPA is low or why you failed a class. But seeing that you did great in your pre-requisite classes, you for sure have a shot! Look around for more schools, I'm from New York and I know having a Low GPA really hinders your acceptance to nursing programs which is why I'm applying to a lot more out of state schools. As a back up option, I'm also considering getting an associates in nursing where I can take the NCLEX and become an RN then do an online RN to BSN program. You should also look into that, your pre-reqs can transfer! It may take longer but there are accredited programs in the city that are easy to get into they just cost a lot more. Let me know if you need any more information, I'd love to help !!

Swedish Institute NYC-is it a good program?
Hi all, I'm looking to attend the Swedish Institute for the nursing program. Are there any graduates of the program or current students with some insight as to how they like the program? Also, has anyone tried to go into an RN to BSN program after attending this school? because a BSN is my goal and I want to be sure that an associates from here is legit and other schools will allow me to continue with a BSN.

Touro College Brooklyn BSN Fall 2017
I'm applying to the BS program! I spoke to someone at admissions today, they said that if we are transferring in with a BS in Bio we could potentially start as 3rd year nursing students. He did say theres about 35 seats for each of the nursing programs so I dont know how they'll be ranking which students to accept/deny. I have a 2.6 gpa from my degree granting school and my pre-reqs are all A's. The person I spoke to said that they dont really look at pre-reqs because this is designed for first time freshman students. Maybe having strong grades in pre-reqs will make us strong applicants? I'm not sure. But the deadline to apply is April 1st and they start reviewing applications after that. I'm looking to submit this by next week. How was the NLN? Did you study for it/what exactly is on the test? and, do you know what grades they are looking for in that exam?

Touro College Brooklyn BSN Fall 2017
Hey! I'm applying to this program as well with a previous BS in bio. It says the priority deadline is April 1st, do you know if they'll be looking at applications after that date or its on a rolling basis? I'm also hoping to get into this program because majority of the BSN programs apps have closed up for the fall start and I'm really looking to start in the fall -also, do you mind sharing your credentials? i have a low GPA in my BS hoping that wont affect my admission bc i do have a lot of the nursing pre-reqs with high grades

Second Degree Accelerated BSN-Low GPA, HELP!
I'm from new york and I have my BS in Biology with a 2.68 GPA. But, my nursing pre-requisites are all A's and one B-. I'm having trouble finding schools that'll accept me as an accelerated nursing student as almost all schools write that they prefer a 3.0 and average GPA of students accepted is 3.5 etc. I started off as a 4 year BSN student but stupidly changed my major to Biology and now find myself desperately wanting back in. IF someone could please help me find schools in NY-NJ-CT-PA area, that will accept my 2.68 and see my high grades in the pre-requisites. I do have amazing letters of recommendations lined up as well! I am open to all schools, private/public..although I know private schools are slightly easier to get into. Any information at all would be of so much help!

Getting an Associates in Nursing after a Non Nursing Bachelors Degree
Do you think I can apply to a traditional BSN program after already holding a bachelors? For some reason, the schools in New York are not that forthcoming with the information as to what they give more points to, GPA or pre-req grades.

Getting an Associates in Nursing after a Non Nursing Bachelors Degree

Getting an Associates in Nursing after a Non Nursing Bachelors Degree
Hi all! My question is does anyone know how long it'll take for me to get my associates in nursing after completing my BS in Biology? I have my BS in Bio and want my BSN-RN, but my 2.68 in my BS is making it hard to find programs in NY-NJ-CT-PA area. I have all A's and one B- in my BSN pre-requisites but my 2.68 is really not leaving me with much options, and I'm eager to start nursing this year! Please let me know if anyone has ever actually done this, or do you suggest I just go for an accelerated BSN program and hope for the best? HELP
