BCIT January 2018 Intake
@twinkyswirl Same here. I will move to the Langara locale when I get back and start my new life. My old classmates had already started their nursing programs at different schools. It sucks to keep waiting for months and even years and doing the job I dislike but for paying bills. Congratulations to all the selectees! Wish you all the best.

It may be helpful to search " communication skills Heath care", " interpersonal skills health care", " leadership and professionalism health care", " self-regulation nursing students." These are the topics indicated in the email. Also search for job interview skills to see how to answer questions. I found this link hope it's helpful: Is self-regulation under threat? | Canadian Nurse

She got in with a foreign medical degree of 120 credits and around 60 UT credits, not just because of the interview.

I paste the following note here in case some of you have not seen them yet. https://learn.bcit.ca/d2l/home/428302 As part of the selection process for the BCIT Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program you are being asked to answer four questions keeping within a 250 word limit per question. This is a timed 90 minute quiz, once you begin you cannot close and restart. You must complete the quiz within one 90 minute session. Responses will be evaluated based on writing style, grammar and spelling, and whether you have answered the question completely. Marks will be deducted for going over the word limit. Read the questions carefully and answer thoughtfully, based on your personal and professional experiences. The responses do not need to be health or nursing focused. Please remember to save your answers frequently. At the end of 90 minutes, your questionnaire will be automatically submitted and any unsaved answers will be lost. All answers will remain confidential. The quiz must be completed and submitted by October 19 at 2:00 p.m. To access the quiz, go to the activities tab on the blue menu bar above. From there, select 'Quizzes'.

My friend told me. She got in last intake. She heard that from some nursing students. Well she didn't tell me so before the questionnaire but after.

If I had known, I did not need to reapply. í ½í¹„í ½í¹„í ½í¹„í ½í¸ž Also, you need to tell how this incident influences you to become a good nurse.

BCIT January 2018 Intake
You will see. I heard that tt is better that you answer the question like a nurse is recording an incident in a ward.

BCIT January 2018 Intake
Describing scenarios in which you show you have the required skills (stated in the email from bcit) to solve conflicts. Make sure the scenario you describe is conflictual such as the conflicts happen between patient and nurse. In each questions, word limit is 250 and you have 90 minutes to answer four questions.

So it's like 250 people compete for 186 seats?

@kkuit You would better to ask the committee to see the meaning of the status of being waitlisted. Someone just said the acceptance is revokable so the status of being waitlisted may not mean anything.

@curiouspanda The time people losing hope is at the moment the result of acceptance has been sent out. Therefore the worrying doesn't have no reason. I quickly looked through the background of selected students in the August 2017 intake. Quite a lot of students just got their bachelor graduating from SFU or UBC in this June. I just feel like " what? It seems the so-called waiting game has been ended from then. " When I went to the program consulting, the adviser did tell me the selection committee prefers applicants have a degree. I thought those applicants they need to apply for a different bachelor program because they cannot find a job after trying. It seems they are lucky finishing one degree and then starting the other one while other people do not have a chance to start one as the education resources is scarce. I am not blaming anything. If the applicant is more like to succeed it is good for the school and selected applicant.

When quite a bit of us show a high level of anxiety, we will get an update from the committee and someone will come out and give an official explanation from the school. When someone says she is not likely to get accepted, she will be likely to get an email telling her she does not get an offer.

I have a feeling like what we are talking here is being read by the selection committee.

No, I did not. I got shortlisted again. It seems the selection game is more competitive at the January intake. You are ready to do immunization record and criminal check.

Once you are waitlisted, you do not need to any other things to improve your application or reapply again, wasting $90. If you are not accepted for this intake you will be automatically offered a seat in the next one. I knew that from a previous post.

Sorry. I thought you could. I got English B+, psy B+, bio 1&2 A-,A+, Chem 1&2 A+, A+, cal A+, stat A+. I also have done some other UT courses. With those extra courses, my total UT credits are 44 and my overall GPA is 3.66 but that of the prerequisites should be higher. I volunteer at three facilities and I have submitted two volunteer referenc letters. In the letters, I have over 250 hours volunteering at care center and 30 hours in hospital. I also have around 90 credits from my post secondary education and have libs done.
-
BCIT January 2018 Intake
You can find that in my previous posts.

I got shortlisted last time. After that I retook some courses to boost my grades, finished libs and gained more volunteer experience. If these things don't help, I don't know what else will.
