I got my results from pearsonvue almost exactly 48 hours after I tested. My BON usually posts quickly but of course I didn't see my results so to have peace of mind I paid the $7.95 so I didn't have to suffer the weekend! I am so happy I PASSED!!!!!! Dedra

How I Passed Boards
I took my boards on Thursday June 1st and I just found out today that I passed!!! (I paid pearsonvue the $7.95 to have peace of mind for the weekend) The day of the test I was surprised that I wasn't really that nervous. It took me and hour and 15 minutes and the test shut off after I had answered 75 question. To be honest I thought that the test was going to be harder then it was. What I mean is the type of questions I was getting a lot of towards the end was priority type of questions and I believe they consider these harder type questions to answer but for me they are fairly easy for me to answer. I think if you really know your content and lab values you are set! But even though I didn't think the test was that hard I still left feeling unsure of myself. I knowing how I am so I brought my school book with me so as my hubby drove me home I was second guessing myself looking things up. As far as how I studied for the test I did the Saunders Cd over spring semester. (For our final class of the semester we were required to do certain content tests from the Saunders Cd each week and turn in with an 80% or better) When I did the saunders I went above and beyond and in each content area I did the study mode for all of the questions and took notes from content that was hard for me to grasp. The only section I didn't do all the questions to study from was Pharmacology there are over 600 questions in that area. Anyhow I did Saunders over the spring and after I graduated I attended Kaplans seminar and also did the question trainers from kaplans online. Again taking notes from content that I needed help on and studying from those notes. 2 weeks after Kaplans seminar I tested. And you better believe Monday morning after I see my license number posted I am going to my boss to negotiate my new contract from LPN to RN!!!!

Taking Boards this morning at 10.
I too took my boards today. I am hoping and praying that I passed. The test only took me about an hour and 15 minutes and it shut off after I had answered 75 questions. I found I got a LOT of priority type questions and quite a few of select all that apply type questions. I only got one math question. I hope my State board posts soon! I hate to go the weekend and not knowing if I passed or not.

Atrial Fibrillation Case Study research help needed
Hello, I have a case study paper that I have to do on Atrial fibrillation. I was wondering if anyone knew of nursing magazines, journal and web sites that could help me with my paper? I am freaking out because I struggle to write papers.... Any help would be appreciated! :-) :) Here are the rules I have to follow: I have to use at least 4 references In addition, at least two nursing articles that relate to your case study topic. Each nursing article has to be 3+ pages, have at least one author, and be from a nursing magazine from 2000 to present. Here is what I have to cover in my paper: Ø What assessments will be needed to properly care for the patient in the Case situation? Give the rationale for wanting these assessments? Ø What are the major health risks for the patient/family in this Case situation? Ø What age related or cultural issues might be a concern for this Case situation? Ø What medications (& purpose) will typically be used in this Case situation? Ø What alternative medical therapy might the patient be using that could positively or negatively impact the care in the Case situation? Make your selection from the suggestions given in Chapter 4 in Ignatavicious & Workman. In a paragraph explain the benefits (or risks) of a specific alternative therapy for this case situation. (One of the articles can be about your choice of alternative therapy if the article meets the above criteria.) Ø What Labs or diagnostic tests might be ordered by the physician? Why? Ø What teaching is needed and who should be taught? Is there an appropriate website? Ø List the nursing interventions in the order you would do them for a patient in the Case situation. Describe one intervention as caring for the person's spirit. List the Nursing Diagnoses for this Case situation, using NANDA terminology. TIA Dedra :-)
