Most everyone in my class quit their jobs, only a few still worked. I suppose some. An work and do nursing school at the same time, but I have a family, so that would be too difficult for me. On average I put in about 50 hrs a week (class-time, clinicals, projects, and READING!) it really is rigorous.

Pretty much. I will say that when I first applied, I didn't get in. There were about 140 applicants and only 30 picked. But, the next round they raised the TEAS scores and only 39 were able to apply and 24 got in. Great odds. I assume it's still the same. Most importantly is passing the TEAS.

You're given base points to begin with, and then you'll receive xtra points for being military, A's in some classes, having some type of medical license, etc. basically, the higher your points, the better odds you have of getting in. It looks like they changed the point system since I applied, but same premise. I'd say, you really want to study for the TEAS exam before taking it. The TEAS tripped me up.

I'm not sure when the Student Handbook will be emailed, but it should come before next week's orientation. NO, I haven't bought any materials yet. I know there's only one book we'll be buying, everything else will be online. I wouldn't be worrying about math at this point.

Darn. They hardly had any applicants this time. Only 39 total, and 24 were picked. I know that many people had difficulty passing the TEAS since they upped the minimums. I really hope you get in. Fingers crossed for you.

TCC is accepting 24 students for Spring 2017.

I'm wondering if you'll still be notified? Maybe they haven't finished notifying recipients? Did you receive the notice that you qualified for the lottery? Have you applied anywhere else?

I applied a year ago, but didn't get in. Back then there were approx. 140 applicants and 30 were picked. This time around there were only 39 eliglble applicants and 24 were chosen. I also applied one time at PLU. I feel fortunate that I got into TCC after the 2nd try, as I've heard people applying up to 5 times!

Awesome! I just wanted to touch bases with students coming into the program. How long have you been trying to get in? Where else did you apply?
