  1. Hi! I'm applying to OSU's traditional entry online FNP program, Fall 2020 term. I just graduated with my ADN and passed my NCLEX last month. My BS is in economics. Glad to see another applicant and best of luck to you!
  2. I applied and was accepted without all my pre-reqs done. I had not completed BIO 141 & 142, PHI 220 or a PSY class (so 4 classes outstanding) at the time I submitted my application. The more classes taken help with the points assessed when they review the applications. I have a previous Bachelor's Degree and scored a 94 on my HESI so those probably made up for the points I missed out on without having those classes completed. Chem or Micro are the only required ones that have to be completed before you can apply.
  3. Woo-hoo! Cohort 1! :) Congrats to everyone!!!
  4. Well, at least we're all in the same boat - no letter today either. Fingers crossed for tomorrow!!!
  5. Gah! Fingers crossed for tomorrow! I live by Town Center in VB and don't get my mail until around 5:00 so I'll probably be one of the last to find out... Can't wait for tomorrow!
  6. Hi Ambres! Is ethics the only pre-req you haven't completed yet? When I turned in my application I didn't have A&P1 & 2, Ethics, or child psych completed yet. Also a 4.0 & a 94 on Hesi, but worried that only having half of my pre-reqs completed at application time will make me not as competitive. I don't know numbers for this application period, but I'd say that 500 is probably around average for each application cycle. They only accept 64 I think for the fall (32 for each cohort). Can't wait to see all y'all post when letters are received! Best of luck to everyone this week!!! :)
  7. Being in Virginia Beach, I think I'll get my letter Thursday, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Wednesday! :)
  8. Even though I'm certain they don't mail the letters out early, I've been anxiously checking the mail box everyday. Can't wait to find out! Living in VB, I'll probably be one of the last ones to get mine haha
  9. I mailed mine too and have the same fear that maybe it didn't even get there. It didn't get returned to me so I'm just going on that with fingers crossed that it was actually "submitted." Gah! Just makes things EXTRA nerve-wreaking.
  10. T-minus 1 week(ish) :) Not sure since the 15th falls on a Saturday if they'll send them out on Friday or wait until Monday, but regardless we'll know soon!
  11. Price-wise the CDC is fine. My oldest will start kindergarten in the fall and the nearest CDC is 20 minutes from where we live. I doubt they provide before and after school care with bus transportation with his elementary school. Also, if I get a 12-hr clinical day (I'm trying to plan for worse-case scenario), that would put me past the hours for the childcare center. I know the KinderCare I had my son at previously could not watch your child for more than 10 hours on a single day. It wouldn't be a problem if I knew my husband wouldn't have to leave, but that's an unrealistic expectation for me...
  12. Just over two weeks left until results are out! :) Anyone else who applied have small kids and no family in the area? I've got two young ones and a husband in the military so I'm looking into childcare options for the fall. I was looking for some input from others in a similar situation.
  13. The first month's wait went by really fast, hoping the second will be the same!
  14. I'm facing a similar situation. I'm 32, have 2 small, energetic children, my husband is military and gone often. Most of the year I am a single mom. I have a previous BS in economics but hadn't taken a class in over 10 years. Last semester I started with Microbiology (and two online classes - Eng comp & Intro to Psych) and I rocked a 100 in both lab & lecture. I took the lecture portion online because of my household schedule. This semester I am taking two online courses (child psych & ethics) and A&P I. I have a 99 in the lecture portion of A&P and over a 100 in the lab portion (we just finished our midterm practical last week). When the young pups ask how I did on a test I just tell them I'm happy with what I made. If they ask for more specifics I tell them I made an A. I do see that sometimes they get frustrated that the knowledge and recall comes easy to me. But it's because I put in the work! After my kids go to sleep (which is the only time I can study) I bust my tail to learn the material. Please don't feel guilty that others are struggling and that you are excelling. You're being rewarded for your hard work. Keep up the good work!
