  1. They have started to offer interviews. I got an email today. It didn't tell me what area the interview was in, but they said they were set up a time to call me and discuss the possible units. When I filled out the application, I selected the critical care/stepdown, acute surgery service, and heart and vascular service. I don't know if they are notifying everyone this week or just certain areas.
  2. I interviewed for neuro ICU at university.
  3. I also interviewed for the program on Friday, as well. I was told that we should be hearing back from HR by Wednesday or Thursday of this week. But I was told that by the unit I interviewed for, so I'm not sure if it is the same for other units.
  4. Has anyone heard anything back from them yet?
  5. I am a nursing student that graduates in May of 2017. I am interested in critical care. I currently work as a nurse extern on a surgical trauma ICU at a level I trauma center and on a cardiovascular medical/surgical floor. My clinical practicum will be completed in a medical ICU. I would love to work in a surgical trauma ICU after graduation, but I am trying to move outside of my current city. I also love working with neuro patients. I recently received an offer for a M/SICU and I don't know how to decide if I should take it or not. The unit receives a wide variety of patient populations-- a lot of sepsis, DKA, GI bleeds, neurosurgery, etc. They receive all ICU patients expect for cardiac patients. However, the hospital is not a trauma center, so I would not get to see any trauma patients. I have many other interviews set up for different types of ICUs at other hospitals (neuro ICU, surgical/transplant ICU, trauma ICU, and surgical/trauma ICU). I'm trying to decide if I should take the position in the M/SICU and pass on the other interviews, which may lead to positions in trauma ICUs, or pass on this job. I really liked the M/SICU and the staff that I meet during the interview. I think that it would provide me with an excellent new graduate education. Does anyone have any advise about deciding about offers? Thank you!
  6. I have an interview for Surgical ICU in March. They emailed me within 1-2 weeks after I applied. I'm not sure how many people they are interviewing for the unit or how many people they are hiring. I know a lot of people haven't heard anything back from them. Maybe it depends on what unit you selected you were interested in. What unit did you select as your interest?
  7. I would just go online to website and check your application, if you remember your password that's probably the easiest way to find out.
  8. I got an email from the manager. I don't know if it was because I recently emailed her about the status of the hiring process. Because when I originally talked with her, she told me that they were making their decisions on Friday and that those selected would be contacted by HR within the next week. But you can check your application status on the rex careers website. It will say, "The Hiring Manager is interested in offering you a position. Communication regarding next steps should be forthcoming" if you were hired. They only selected two new grads. I'm not sure how many they interviewed but that didn't seem like very many to select. If you were selected, HR should send the offer within the next week.
  9. They made the decisions for the ICU positions! Did you hear anything?
  10. I interviewed for the MSICU as well. And I haven't heard anything. When did you interview?
  11. Hey have you already interviewed for the ICU? If so, have you heard anything back yet?
  12. I applied probably around the second week of January and heard back on the 18th about setting up an interview. And my interview was on the 27th.
  13. I applied to the new grad position in the ICU. I had my interview on Friday and waiting to hear back! Also applied to the main UNC hospital but I haven't heard anything back from them yet!
