The TEAS is standardized, so it is a good way to compare your skills not only to other students at your school, but also to students from schools all over the country. I know of a different nursing program in the same town as I live in which awards As and Bs to students who can barely read and write. Since education isn't exactly standardized, the TEAS ensures that the students will fall within a certain level of skill and background education before entering into a clinical program.
