  1. Hi Everyone! I am starting my nurse externship in the PACU this Summer and I am so excited! I wanted to choose a speciality that I would not be able to experience in clinicals at school and after talking to a family friend who works in the PACU and my friend who is an ICU fellow, the PACU sounded like an amazing place to experience! I was just wondering about what an everyday work shift in the PACU looked like/what to expect. I would also love to hear any personal experiences with the PACU/how you got into the unit/why you chose the unit! I start on 6/13 and I am so excited to hear your experiences!

  3. Hi all! I am a freshman nursing student and am curious about specialities. Before starting nursing school I thought I wanted to become a NICU RN, but I am now having doubts wondering if I am strong enough to deal with the hardships that come with that speciality everyday. I know I am just beginning, but was wondering if anyone here is a Plastic Surgery RN? I don't hear a lot about the pre reqs and RNs who work in plastics a lot so I was looking to gain some insight on here if possible. I've read online (so who knows how reliable) before going into plastics, most hospitals and practices require at least 2 years of experience before entering. I was wondering if there was a certain speciality people have done such as ICU or ER and are now in plastics that has been shown to help them. Anything helps, thanks! :)
