Jersey College
@JerseyGirl94 It's NOT just Ewing. Trust me. Teterboro was exactly the same. They're all about money. This is a well devised plan where they worked out how to easily take extra money from their students. It's disgusting and if I had known I would have never stepped foot in that place. Send me a private msg so I can tell you more. I'd leave my email here but I know for a fact that they read these messages and nursing (believe it or not) is a small community. I don't want any future issues because I chose to speak up.

Blew a vein during clinical
So sorry that you had a crappy clinical. Hopefully your instructor will understand and remember that you're human and still learning how to get the hang of it. Not sure why some people need to make you feel worse by stating that it isn't rant worthy. You can rant. If people don't like it they have the option of scrolling past your post instead of the unnecessary mean girl comments but I guess that some of us try to live up to our names. Anyway, feel free to msg me if you ever need to "rant"...I've been there and completely understand. Hoping that your next clinical is a great one.

Jersey College school of nursing/ Holyname school of nursing Graduates
Jersey College is okay. Nothing to go crazy over. The classes are difficult but they'll be difficult anywhere you go. The teachers are great but the rest of the staff is just there to take your money. It's all that they're interested in. Admissions is ghetto and financial aid doesn't help at all with anything. No matter what you will have to make monthly payments to the school. Don't even think of asking your financial aid advisor to explain why you have to pay because you will never get a straight answer. One "financial aid advisor" is always on the phone and too busy to tend to the students and the other one is hard to understand. For those of you in NJ; it's not too bad because clinical facilities are more or less within 45 minutes from the school. For NY'rs; I'm not sure how they do it! Besides having to come into NJ you then have to travel to clinicals which are pretty far away for you. You will be given two uniforms for FIVE days of school. So either you order more or wash every night. If you want to by extra the tops are $20 and so are the pants. You're also given a blood pressure cuff, cheap pen light and a horrible stethoscope that doesn't work at all. Invest in a good one because you'll need it. The basic Littmann brand scope should be sufficient. Clinical classes need to be made up if you have to be absent and you will be constantly reminded that "it's a clock hour school". So, whether work has been finished or not you are forced to stay until dismissed and they take attendance at random times during the day in case anyone decides to leave. All of the teachers are nice but so unorganized. It always seems like none of them are ever on the same page. At the end of the day I would suggest the other school mentioned above. Their students usually speak well of that school and everything is definitely better organized. They are a tad more expensive but in this case you get what you pay for.

Lpn program Lincoln tech Paramus location
@GodisGood77 Your comments about this school are very confusing. They are all recent and in some you're asking about the school and in an other you say that you went there and dropped out. Not really sure what is the truth or how accurate your "experience" was there. There's also another thread where you commented about Lincoln Tech and how horrible they were and that you withdrew from there. So you withdrew from both Lincoln Tech and Jersey College? I will say this to anyone thinking of applying to nursing school, don't expect anyone to hold your hand. Be ready to work hard. You're thinking of becoming a nurse so you need to get used to working both independently and in a group. Drama happens anywhere there is more than 1 woman. We're mostly all type A personalities and trying to be dominant. Focus on the subject and your patients. You're not there to make friends; you're there to learn and pass the boards to become a nurse. Don't lose sight of the goal.

Help with returning!
Hi everyone! I need 6 more months of school to graduate. I got very sick (in front of professors, my class and patients) on a routine basis. Since my instructors were aware of my sickness I was allowed to take a break to heal and then return. The school's director wants me to now return ad an evening student. Here's my issue... I have a young autistic son. I do not have anyone who can care for him, give him the special attention that he needs, follow routine/schedule, cook and feed him dinner, help with homework, bathe, medicate and get ready for bed. Not to mention days where he has activities and medical visits. My husband works until late and and sometimes doesn't return home because work can take him states away. We do not have family close by or anyone who is familiar with how to care for a child with special needs. Respite services only help with occasional care. With school fees and such, we do not have money to pay for care even if I could find someone. Here's my issue... Since I did not apply as an evening student can they force me to attend evening classes and make this my only option? Not sure how to go over the head of the director if it comes to a point where I need to. Thanks in advance!

What Do You Love About Nursing?
I promise that it's not that bad. The first semester seemed to be the first because you're getting accustomed to the teachers and test taking skills. It's really not horrible. I swear! As far as nursing goes, there's so many different areas that RNs could work in that you really shouldn't be too worried about it. I have friends in home care, elementary schools, psych hospitals and jails... They love their jobs. You'll find something that calls out to you. One word of advice about nursing school, remember what you're there for. If you make friends then great. If you don't then oh well. Just keep focused on your courses and keep running towards the finish line. Wishing you luck!

Evening classes for LPN in New York CITY
Although it's not in NY, Holy Name Medical Center School of nursing in Teaneck NJ is amazing. They have day and evening lpn classes. We have a bunch of out of state students from NY. The clinicals are done in the attached hospital. The classes are all instructed by nursing professors. I really could go on and on about the program. They also have a bridge program for local - rn that lasts a year.
