I am currently in the process of obtaining my BSN. My degree program requires that I interview a nurse who is a member of a professional nursing organization. I was hoping that maybe one could share some insight on the following questions below. I would greatly appreciate it!
What is the name of the professional nursing organization? [h=3]* What is the focus of the organization? What are its goals? [/h][h=3]* What is the rationale for joining the organization? In other words, why would a nurse want to be a member of this particular organization? [/h][h=3]* When and where does the organization meet? For how long? How frequently? [/h][h=3]* How much does it cost to join? [/h][h=3]* What benefits do members receive? [/h][h=3]* When is the next meeting? Where is the next meeting to be held? Who can you contact for more information?

I did this when I was in nursing school for my leadership course; I went to a local chapter meeting of a nurses association; it's best to find what is the next local chapter meeting, and go from there.
Good Luck!

The purpose of this type of assignment is generally to get you out and talking to real nurses. You cannot verify that anyone who would respond via an anonymous message board is truly who they are claiming to be. Also, getting out there and meeting nurses in your area can affect your career- sometimes, it's not what you know but who you know that can tip the scales in your favor when someone is looking to hire.
