Process to take the NCLEX exam

Published

Hello everybody! I am a US citizen and a filipino citizen as well. I got my BS in nursing degree in the Philippines. Then I took the PNLE in 2013 and passed. My plan was to volunteer in the Philippines before I go back to Hawaii and take the NCLEX. But I couldn't focus both volunteering and studying at the same time. I was too pressured. So I told my parents I want to come back to Hawaii and take my NCLEX there. Now my problem is I dont know where to start to get my requirements ready. And since I took my nursing degree in another country, I know there is a CES but im not really clear on what the purpose of that is and how to apply. I will be grateful for advice from nurses of the same situation. I dont know anyone personal to ask about this so thats why I came here. Thank you.

Did you review the instructions on the HI BoN website for licensing by examination as an internationally educated nurse. NCLEX is but one step in the process. You likely have to apply for CES (credential evaluation service) from cgfns (commission of graduates of foreign nursing schools) you can find the instructions and apply/pay online at cgfns.org

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Moved to the Nurse Registration forum

CES report is a breakdown on your transcripts from nursing school and will ensure that your training meets state requirements
