the best thing to do is check their websites and see what requirements are for foreign trained nurses, I am sure Florida does not require CGFNS exam but they do require CES from CGFNS. Have you already applied to a board of nursing because if not then you are looking at months before you can sit the NCLEX.

you do not need CGFNS exam for Florida............
Thanks! Great help. Yup, im still in d process of taking the nclex bt do u think i must get an employer 1st? Nyway, wat is CES? And how cn i get that?
You go to the state BON that you want to work, follow instructions for foreign trained nurse you will not be able to sit NCLEX until you have applied for licensure with state and they process your application. CES is available from http://www.cgfns.org and would suggest getting full assessment. Much better to look for an employer once you have passed NCLEX
Can I suggest good practice in writing on using clear english and no text. Good practice for coming to the USA as documentation is very important and you can only abreviate hospital recognised standards. I do make spelling mistakes but also try to write nice and clear as I do not always understand text and less chance of someone mis understanding what is written
thanks!!! sorry for the texts.. I'll amke it in full next time.. Anyway, I want to know if CES is a type of exam???
No CES is not an exam but a evaluation of your nursing transcripts and to check your training meets US requirements
ey,, is it really true that agencies pay for everything??? like NCLEX exams, IELTS and etc...??? anyway, is there a need to take CGFNS in new york?? thanks in advance guys!
That is up to you and the agency but beware they will have high cancellation fees and can not guarantee where you work. NY require CVS which is different to CGFNS exam and CES (it is their way to evaluate your transcripts). Will also not make it any quicker to get into the US will still be caught in retrogression
I really suggest reading and using the search facility as many questions have already been asked. Also recommend always checking out the board of nursing website yourself as things can change from when someone went through their process

You cannot even apply directly for the NCLEX exam, you will be applying for licensure as an RN in the US. You also need to have permission from a BON to be able to write the exam.
Suggest that you take the time to do some reading here such as the Primer at the top of this forum. You can find the answer to all of your questions right there.
