Problem with CGFNS

Hello everyone, My name is Tarika. I was Thai nurse and I'm living in the US by J1 Visa. I sent application for NY state and right now everything are delayed. I did a mistake. I asked my nursing school and Thailand nursing council to send my transcript and nursing license but I tried to tell CGFNS about that by regular mail, email , and on the phone. They have never talked nicely to me on the phone and tried to hang the phone on me. They always said my application and everything are ready for review while I tried to tell them that I did a mistake. (are you ok about that?) they only said it was ready for review. 6 weeks later,they just sent mails to my school and nursing coucil and it appears that procession on my status. I callled them again, they said that 's because I asked my school to send those documents at first so that 's why it was delayed. I said I tried to make sure since I knew I did a mistake but nobody help me much. They always said it already to review. They only said SORRY to me. I waste my time to wait and wait. Right now I tried to ask my school and nursing council on Thailand but they said they didn't get any mails from them yet. Anyway, I have never got any mail from them either. NO ID card , NO WELCOME mail. I asked for those mails 2-3 times.They said they sent by ground mail but I have never got.

I wonder how they work and the people who worked as a customer service, they are not friendly , helpful. Who have ever got same problems like me? What should I done?

I graduated from the US nursing school. All I did is to hand the "request for academic record from visascreen" (in the application packet from the website) to the registrar office. My dean filled out these from, then the registrar office sent this from along with the transcript to CGFNS. The nursing school is not supposed to get any form from CGFNS. YOu just request them to sent transcript and the above form to CGFNS.

CGFNS can only accept transcripts that they requested, as well as verification form the Thai Nurisng Council that was requested by them. If you have them sent, they cannot be used, and this is per NY, not CGFNS.

How long ago did you send the applications to CGFNS? And did you submit payment with the applications?

Are you aware that they actually have a Thai working in the CGFNS office so you can ask to speak with them?

I am sorry. May be I did not understand your situation correctly.

If you are going for initial licensure in NY, then per the state requirements and the Special Credentials Verification for NY, the request for the transcripts as well as verification from licensing board must be requested by CGFNS, otherwise they cannot be accepted. This is just for NY, and no other states.

It took 2 months that i sent the applications to CGFNS. Yes , I did submit payment with the applications.

I have never known about they have a Thai working in the CGFNS office.

I am so worried about my case.

Do you know for a fact that CGFNS actually recieved your applicaitons as well as payment.? If I remember correctly, you said that you did not receive anything from them as of yet. You should have had card with your assigned CGFNS number by now. I would verify that either your check was cashed or the payment was actually posted to your credit card before doing anything else. CGFNS receives thousands of peices of mail everyday. That is why I recommend courier service even in the US with them.

There was a Thai working there last year, they should still be there. They were getting so many phone calls from Thailand where the nurse hardly spoke English, that they decided that they needed someone who spoke Thai in the office.

Very true, indeed! 2 months is a blink of an eye in this community :chuckle we have learned to handle loooooong waiting period. :rotfl:
