I want to do my pre req's online and ccac has a lot of distance learning options, are most pre reqs for nursing the same for most schools? The one I was looking at was english 4 units, Math 2 w/ algebra required, Social studies 3, and Science 2 w/ lab. Are units the same as credits? For example can I do a basic math and when i'm done do algebra fundamentals, and that be it for my 2 credits?

Most general education classes are 3 credits, with science courses with lab being 4 credits each. Although each program is somewhat different, they all usually require English 1 and 2, Algebra, Chemistry, Biology, Anatomy 1 and 2, Microbiology, Psychology and Human Growth and Development. Those are just the standard courses required. Some programs might require other general ed classes (like nutrition) in addition to the list above.
Good luck. I hope this helps.
