Preparing for classes/RN classes

Hello all!!I am currently a Medical Assistant with an AAS degree. I am in the process of registering for my pre-reqs to become an RN. Is there anything I can do to prepare myself for these classes? Such as reading certain books or looking up info online? Like away to educate myself? I plan to take a 2-year RN program at a community college. All tips & ideas are welcome!

This is my second quarter in the BSN program. I just bought Anatomy and Physiology for Dummies, its easy to read and breaks down the different bones, cells, muscles, etc. Im taking A&P this Summer but I want to get a head start.

I am scheduled to finish my AAS in nursing in less than 2 months. Here's my advice to anyone who is entering a nursing program or planning on entering a nursing program.

-Purchase an NCLEX study guide (I use Saunders, works well for me): Don't memorize the guide or spend hours on studying, this is what school is for. However, read over the study guide and try to learn some of the overall concepts in the books.

-Do as many questions as you can: Adjusting to these questions was the most difficult part of the process for me. We have been taught to always pick the right question. Nursing school questions are different, all the answers are correct, you have to figure out which answer is the "most correct."

-Adjust your schedule before you start school: If you can learn to live on 4-5 hours of sleep and figure out how to manage your life along with the study time required BEFORE you start school it will cut down on the shock factor.

I'm sure others will have advice as well, these are just things that I can think of off the top of my head. Best of luck.
