Pregnant

Yesterday I want to garrison women's health for a pregnancy urine test and it was negative and they also did a pregnancy blood test. But when I did the home pregnancy test I got positive.

Hi! HPT's are much more sensitive than doctors pregnancy tests, which means they will be able to detect hCG in your urine more than a doctors test would(early on). hCG in your urine is a sign of being pregnant, but your test could be a false positive, meaning that the test says positive, but you could not be pregnant, which occurs if you have protein or blood in your urine. There are also many drugs that could result in giving you a false positive such as tranquilizers, anti-convulsants, hypnotics, etc! Also, the pregnancy tests could have just possibly been expired, if you're not sure if your tests were or not, I would suggest going back to the store, getting another pack, and making sure they aren't expired. Maybe wait a week or two and see if the results are any different. Good luck!

If you get the blood results back and it's somehow negative, I would still wait a week or two, buy some new pregnancy tests, make sure they are not expired and take the test again, hCG's are very faint in the first in urine, good luck!

This is something you should discuss with your provider. Allnurses does not provide medical advice or test result interpretation.
