I posted this on the General Student Nurses boards, but thought I'd ask here again --
I'm completing a summer student nurse intern program and have just had the best experience. My preceptor has been absolutely awesome and I'd like to get something as a token of my appreciation for my having been like an extra appendage to her for the past 6 weeks.
I was considering a restaurant gift certificate, but wondered if anyone had any other thoughts or ideas that might be more appropriate?!?!
Thanks!!:balloons:

There's nothing wrong with a gift certificate for something you know the preceptor would like.
Whatever you do, though, should be accompanied by a handwritten note thanking her for everything she's done for you, and telling her how much you appreciate it.

That's funny, I was thinking food. Us nurses really LOVE to eat!!
You could do a Gift Cert. for a scrub shop, too. I bet anything would be appreciated.

I agree with Santhony44. The card with the heartfelt thanks and appreciation for all she's done means so much! I remember getting my preceptor some unique lotion that you massaged your feet with and then special slippers to cover the lotion while she was sleeping. Anything to help her relax...whether it's a restaurant gift certificate or something to pamper. She'll love the kind thoughts!

I gave my preceptor a box of chocolates. They were very lovely and fancy...
