I am in the process of finding out where I will be precepting. I put NICU as number one, of course. I switched my number 2 choice from adult to maternity. I was thinking this would be better because I would at least see babies as well as correlate the prental experience to building my knowledge base with them. Does that make sense? Was it a good choice? Would it have been better to go adult? I am not interested in working with adults at all, I know where my passion is. I just want to make sure I am making the best decisions. Any opinions?
I think that's the best route to take. I did OB before NICU and it was definitely valuable. Not only do you learn normal baby care and assessment, but you learn to deal with the families.
