Pre-Reqs & Learning Support

Published

In August I will be starting my pre-reqs for nursing. I have to take a learning support class for math. I'm not embarrassed about it because it has been many years since I have been in school and I kind of feel I actually need it. The school that I'm attending requires that I attend my learning support class on campus, but I'm having a baby in 3 weeks and have to have a C-section and classes start on the 21st. Can I take some of my other classes that I need online this semester and then take the my math next semester when I'm able to go to classes on campus? Or can do I have to take my learning support class before anything else?

My guess is that you can probably take other pre-reqs that don't have a math component to them. However each school is different so maybe give them a call and find out for sure. Good luck with school and your new baby!

I think it is fine to start your math later because there is only one math nursing prerequisite which is Statistics. Just start taking your non math nursing prerequisites so you are not too behind. Also, you should talk to a counselor at your school to see if you decision is right.
