What are your thoughts on keeping the CCRN certification after NP licensure. I am kind of at a crossroad at thinking it serves little purpose at this point in my life. Not sure what value it will hold in the future while applying for positions as an ICU NP; I feel my current surgical ICU NP position will hold enough weight.
Thoughts/comments?

In our group of ICU NP's less than a handful kept their CCRN certification. I am one of the ones who did but I'm active with AACN and I appreciate that organization's contribution to ICU Nursing. I think your experience as an ICU NP will carry more weight. Some physicians don't know what CCRN means.

Let it lapse. It's extra money with no extra purpose. Your colleagues, physicians and PAs, don't know what it is. It's geared towards RNs, not NPs. It lends nothing to your salary nor your scope of practice. And being an ICU NP completely eclipses holding a RN cert.
If you're an ACNP with certification through the AACN, what's the point of keeping it?
