Growing up i didn't know portion size or even the food groups. My mom's food groups were hostess, pepsi, little debbie, mcdonald's, and pizza. I thought this was normal. Now i have my daughter, my metabolism came to a screeching stop, and i am still carrying around extra weight. I have decided this stops here and now. Today i went to the store after getting rid of bad foods. Stocked up on veggies and fruits. I've never been much of a meat person. I am starting with 15 minute yoga session in the morning, then walk around my block (about a mile), and finish with 30 minutes of yoga. 5-6 days a week before school. I don't know if any of you are here with me but if you are i would love a motivation group. Lol.

Good idea, now you just gotta stick with it! I had a similar thought process (except I don't need to lose weight or anything like that), but it's a good idea to practice what you preach! I'm trying to eat better and exercise more. And I love yoga, so good choice!

I am right there with you. I have been thinking about how unhealthy I am living and all while learning to encourage others to exercise! I dont even exercise! Your post inspired me to do something. Please let me know if there will be a group started! Have a great day! :)
Today is my second day and i am keep right at my 1200 calorie goal. Second day without soda, or artificial sweeteners. Today i even took an extra walk after i ate my lunch. I am feeling pretty good and a lot less tired.

Such a great idea.
I am feeling the same way right now. I would love to join an online group (FB??) that can serve as a motivational group on exercise, diet, etc ... especially for while in nursing school.
Something where people can talk about easy week night meal ideas, easy exercise ideas for busy days, no energy after clinicals ... just to keep moving, etc. I have looked but have never found anything.

That would be great, My issue that I am on such a tight budget, I can't afford to buy fruits and veggies. I am doing good to just have meat in the house. Hoping to have a job soon, so that I can expand our diet.

Good for you! Your body, and your daughter, will appreciate the fact you are taking care of you.
