Positive Thoughts

I have been reading so many threads lately and it seems everyone hates nursing and their career choice. I would think it is very discouraging to read that over and over and am beginning to think that just like when you are working with a group of negative people your positive thoughts diminish soooooo....

I am not saying I love every aspect of my job however after reading alot of the recent posts I can say I count my blessings that I have the job that I do have. I know things could be different with management, schedule and general work environment to make things better at times however I do believe that the grass isnt always greener on the other side so to speak and I feel that ask anyone in any profession and they will also feel they have it rough.

In general I feel very appreciated by the patients and their families, love my co-workers, management does listen on a individual basis and I am very well paid for my time. I think some other positive thoughts needs to be expressed in order to pick up the good aspects of nursing because like I said earlier when you are surrounded by negativity then the positive feelings diminish.

Happy Holidays!

;)

Kanani Ikike------my apoligizies---I reread all the posts in this thread and I did see all the positive comments regarding nursing. There was one post that I read that I took the wrong way when I read it the first time.

Kymmi, no need to apologize. You didn't do anything wrong. Actually, I'm sorry if I sounded harsh, myself. I just want you to realize that in the end, most nurses really love what they do. They just get frustrated because they are prevented from doing the job they set out to do due to politics. It makes you want to scream so days. But allnurses is a good venue to erupt and then be able to go back to work the next day. ;)
