Position Description

I am doing a position description for my NP program which involves me making my own job description for the position that I would like to have when I finish school.

I would like to work for an internal medicine doctor but I don't know the answers to some important questions::wink2:

What are the work hours? Including call?

Who are you responsible to? Who are you responsible for?

What will you fiscally be responsible for? To who and what will you delegate?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Well if this is your ideal job here's what I would put:

Hours - 45 hours

No call

Responsible to your collaborating physician(s)

Responsible for medical management of stable medical patients.

No hospital rounding.

Fiscally responsible to the practice by practicing preventive care. Fiscally responsible to patients for choosing the cheapest solution or medicine as well as being up to date on CMS rules. Knowledgeable about pharmacy plans in your area and/or have the resources to look them up.

Delegate routine patient care to your MA's and/or office nurses. Be aware of their scope of practice prior to delegation.

Salary: $150,000. (I said this was your dream job - lol).

I DO take call - lol! That's why I decided in your perfect job that YOU wouldn't have to!
