Hello! I am one! I don't really care for the PMHNP designation, too long and also redundant: psych + mental health...hmmm who came up with that? I always liked Psych Nurse Practitioner but Peds got that one (PNP).
I do mostly prescribing/diagnosing with very little therapy, however, I do like to do therapy and would consider doing more of it in a private practice (ultimate goal). Its a great career, very interesting and I am really happy. Working towards DNP in a year or two, just to have that terminal degree, perhaps do some teaching. I feel fortunate to have found a field in which I can truly help people through difficult transitions. I also felt that way as a psych. nurse before becoming an NP!

I was wondering...are you an Adult PMHNP or a Family PMHNP?
