You have been out of school for almost 4 years with a bachelor's degree and you have decided that you want a degree in nursing? I had a plan of doing an accelerated program at UT-Memphis, but I figured it would not be a good idea since I need to work. I have a friend who is already a nurse who told me I should consider getting an associates degree in nursing instead. I completed everything I needed to get accepted into southwest tn cc until they tell me that since I already have a degree I wouldn't be able to get fin aid, unless I went to a 4 yr college. I was really hoping for an associates degree in nursing, especially since it would be cheaper and since it will be a complete turn in careers. I would rather not get a masters not fully knowing what I am getting myself into but I do feel like nursing is for me. I started off as a pre-nursing major in college but doubted myself so I switched careers, and now I'm confused... someone please help. Im going Thursday to talk to a fin aid advisor to see what my options are, I don't want to waste away another year of not being back in school, PLEASE HELP!!!
