Please Help!!!!

Not that I am trying to discourage you from nursing but did you do a national search for jobs? I am sure you could find something if you wanted to in Journalism. Always looking for people like that in the Columbus area. Come to Ohio!

I agree with what renerian said, try doing a search nationally. I think you may be surprised at what you uncover, that is, if you have'nt tried already AND your willing to relocate.

I too thought the grass would be greener, but I can tell you; two nursing school semesters, one cna license, and one hell of an eye opening experience working as an aid in a LTC facility later, I now know it isn't nessisarily so.

Certainly try working in your field of study first, before you go back to school. Otherwise, how will you know what it is like? You may be the next Ashley Banfield. (or whoever) And if nursings allure still draws you in, like I think you mentioned, get some experience as an aid first. This alone will be a great first hand look at the profession, for someone unfamiliar with it.

a question..do you have a drive to take care of people? have you spent all your off time tending to family and taking them to the doctor and checking their meds? making sure that they do all the things they were told to do.:imbar

do you want to spend half your time cleaning up after patients that have limited or no control over bodily functions?

do you naturally sleep all day and stay up all night? do you have the skin of an alligator or shark? so thick that nothing will penatrate it?

if you pass all the above with flying colors and don't mind the risk of contracting tb, aids, hep c. just to name a few of the potential complications of exposures? then welcome to the world of nursing.
