Please HELP- Questions about RN

Published

Hi everyone! I am a student currently taking an introductory nursing class in college and I'm required to ask a registered nurse some questions regarding the role of nurse and more. I was wondering if you any of you have little time to answer these questions for me. Any comments and/or help would be appreciated!

1. What is your perception of the role of the Registered Nurse?

2. Has that perception changed since you first entered nursing?

3. In what area(s) of nursing have you worked?

4. Did you feel you needed different types of communication for each specialty area? If so, how did your communication differ?

5. With whom do you communicate most frequently?

6. How important do you believe communication is in a nurse/client relationship?

7. Are there insights or tips you can give me that you have discovered enhance communication with clients or others?

Thanks in advance!

Those are some questions that are going to involve some in-depth answers. Think of it as the person who is answering those questions as doing you a favor- it would make sense to make it as easy for them as possible, right? For most, that means you listening and taking notes while they speak- which is where a true interview comes in. Getting out in the world and looking for a nurse in your area not only accomplishes that but also helps you start networking and making connections in the area where you are- and where you will most likely be job hunting. Considering that the vast majority of new grads are on level footing, why not give yourself the edge and network with those who may have some influence in helping you get that first nursing job?

Yes, please go find a "real" RN in real life....I'm certain you will find one to answer your questions....we are everywhere!
