Please Help Me decide...School or Job?

Specialties Correctional

I have an interview coming up next week at the correctional facility in california and i'm wondering what kinds of questions to expect. If anyone have any info, kindly please help me out.

Also, I have been recently accepted for the RN-BSN program this coming fall and its like 3 hours away from the correctional facility I applied to. Is it possible to work there and attend school as a part time student? If one doesn't work out, which one should I choose? Is it to get my BSN or get the job (if accepted...jobs are scare right now)???? I am really confused. Please help!!!

If I was you, I would choose the job first.

Or you can study RN-BSN online, so you can study and work at the same time.

CSH Dominguez Hills offers RN-BSN online.

I would vote for getting your BSN. Your BSN will help you get where you need to go. I have my Master's and it has taken me numerous places. I am now looking at going back to bedside nursing too. Nursing is an excellent career with numerous choices. The more education you have the easier it will be to find a job in the long run, especially if you are young do it now! Of course if you have kids and other financial issues now might not be the time. You asked for advice so here it is!

Specializes in Forensic/Psych/Surgical nurse.

I would go for the job. Opportunities come and go, but school will always be there. Good luck!

For me as a LVN I would choose school because I really need to get my RN. But since you already have your RN, then I would go for the job. You can always do your BSN online. But in the end you need to make that decision on what's best for you. We can give our guidance to help you, but in the end its up to you. Good Luck

Hope things are going well? What did you decide to do? There are so many opportunities for RN's now to obtain their BSN while working.I am currently working on my BSN and employed full time. It's hard, but I know it will be worth it. Hang in there! nsgmmm
