Hi! I really need some help preparing for my L&D interview. What kind of questions should I expect? What should I make sure to ask? Are they going to ask me questions about my goals and expectations or you think they may ask me real knowledge based OB questions such as priortizing laboring women based on their complications....I dont know how to prepare since this is my first real interview....Please help!
This is a nurse residency/intern position which is perfect for me since I am a new grad, and do not have prior experience with L&D. This is a structured 3-6 month program that combines classroom sessions with training with a preceptor. I am really nervous because my interview is on Monday. Any helpful suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I would not expect any questions related to OB pt's, they know you have no experience based on your resume, so they should not expect you to know how to prioritize these pt's. I would expect questions like "what made you pick OB?" "how well do you handle high preasure situations?" "What are your strengths and weaknesses?"
You should follow basic interview criteria....
Dress profesionslly

be on time or early
try not to be nervous
go in there with the attitiude of I will get this job, it will help your self confidence.
Good Luck
Thanks for responding.

They may ask you also:
How would you handle conflict between yourself and another employee?
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
What do you do to handle stress at work?
Just a few that I got:specs: Good luck! Let us know how it goes!

I got the job offer today!!!! Thanks for your suggestions. Although the interview was tough, I guess I must have done okay for them to make the offer to me. It was a team interview, and I had about 6 interviewers!!!! It was really intimidating at first because they were taking turns asking me questions, and then were jotting down notes on everything I said! It seemed like I was in there forever....but by the end of it, I felt good about it. It seemed like this was a very sought after position and thats why they wanted to be extra selective. Well, I am so glad to have got the offer, and the pay is pretty good too!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! WELCOME TO OB NURSING!!!!!! I am a new grad; if you have any more questions/need support/whatever please feel free to PM or email me!
