I am a recent grad and am awaiting a date for for the Florida NCLEX RN exam. I am trying to study but seem to be torn in every direction, with no focus. The questions I have done show me weak in lab values and medications as well as prioritation.
What I am looking for is guidence what is the ideal amount of time to study, and would it be daily or per week. Are there any material I can use that will help me focus on my weaknesses instead of just floundering with unfocused books that give me random questions.
so please any study tips you can give me would be great thank you

Saunders CD of Q&A lets you choose which types of questions you want. So if you want to study pharm you could do a bunch of pharm questions and read the rationals. Also, the LaChariety book I would recommend.

Invest in Kaplan. It is REALLY helpful. If you feel like you need a good content review, check out Hurst. I did both.

I bought the Kaplan book...It was very simple to understand & was an overall good review for the NCLEX...I passed mine first try, but it was absolutely the hardest exam ever...My computer shut off on question #50 & I only was confident that I got one question correct, but to my surprise I passed!! Good luck to you & don't be discouraged, just go with your gut!!

Your computer shut off on question #50??? I thought the minimum questions you could get is 75???
Yes, you are right!! Mine shut off at the minimum & it only took me 20 minutes to do the exam. Once I started the exam, I was so sure that I was going to fail, I just read the question & clicked my first instinct...I really only knew for sure that I got 1 question correct...It really doesn't seem like I answered that many, cause I was going so fast...It was so hard & I thought for sure I failed, and I just wanted it to all be over!!!I was thinking it was only 50 questions...I am sorry my statement of 50 questions was incorrect:(
wow 20 minutes, you must be a really fast exam taker. how did you study and what reviews did you use?
thank you all for your help and input, I do appreciate it. I looked at kaplan and think I should have done that instead of hurst it wasnt what I needed. But it is great to know I have nursing comrads I can turn to when I need to.
