Please explain the procedure

I was involved in a MVA/no fault of mine with back injuries. I am aware that my insurance co will pay out loss wages but I was also told that I should contact my union for STD. How does this work? I'm scared to death of not being able to take care of my kids but my back will not allow me to work at this time. Thanks.

(((Starbucksnurse))) so sorry to hear that you have hurt your back. You should contact your HR department asap to see what paperwork you need to submit. Everything is SLOW in this process. Next take care of yourself. Don't know how old your children are--but following dr by resting back is very important. Also have you contacted a lawyer? I do not believe in suing--but there should be some recourse if someone else caused your injuries. Make sure you document everything regarding this injury.

Good luck. take care.
