work management in LTC. I am the only person in my position(ADNS). I had a nurse(I'll call her Jill) work her darnest to get me out so she could have the position. Jill buddied up to the DON inviting her and other top management to her house for parties. I have never been invited. Jill was fairly sucessfull in almost splitting the DON and myself. Jill moved around in a couple of jobs looking for one that would be easy and so she could "play". Well they don't exist and she was not sucessfull in getting me out .... and she even talked to me about it...telling me she had a letter of reference for me all typed up(I'd only known her about 4 months) telling me how great I'd be in acute care...how impressed she was by my knowledge....how I am wasting my talent there. Well, one day I finally told her. I am not going anywhere. So Jill gave her notice. A few days later I had another manager(I'll call Kay) in my office. We had a question for her so I called her and put it on speaker phone as we all often do. Jill was very abrupt, answered my question and hung up on me. Kay was taken aback and commented but has no idea of all the above "agenda". So I let it go. Well not Jill, who is leaving. Jill went to management and complained she had never been treated so unprofessionally in her life. She had other things to say about me but I wasn't told. Instead I was told. Do not talk to Jill by yourself. Make sure you have someone else present.

Management also questioned Kay about what happened when we placed the phone call. Kay told them exactlly.

There were other allegations made by Jill against me. I do not know what they were.

My questions:

Do I have the right to know what was alleged that I did?

I feel this is slander on my professionalism....is it not?

They have found these allegations to be unsubstantiated...why is no one saying that to me? Why are they just saying "stay away from her"?

I feel like they are validating her.

They have walked people out for lesser offenses. I take great offense to my professionalism to have this allowed to happen to me.

I have never once been asked about my side of the story. Why would I not be allowed to voice my side?

Please comment. This is driving me crazy!

I gather you have been at this facility for a number of years? If this were the case, I would certainly write a very professional letter to my supervisor and ask for the details. I agree that telling you to "stay away from her" is ridiculous. Good luck.
