is there a specific forum for RNs working in plastics/cosmetic surgery?
any of you ladies (or gentlement) out there working in these areas (specifically I'm interested in hearing from those of you working in a plastic surgeon's private non-hospital based practice) I'm wondering if you can give me a ballpark of what salaries are like in this area?
I'm currently in-hopsital, critical care but have become intersted in plastic surgery nursing lately so I'm just curious to know if the salaries are comparable?!

I agree, I'm very interested also. In fact, I just did a search for this and found this Thread. I don't see any response so I just thought I would also tell you guys my interest.

I'd like to know how to find open positions. I can't find anything in web searches.

This is interesting. I would also like to know the answers to your questions. Maybe someone will reply who really knows.

Same here. Have wanted to work in this field for a long time. I think the only way toget info about available positions would be through networking but since I never hear of any positions, I figure people stay in those jobs for a long time.

I work with and know a few. #1 work in surgery with the plastic surgeon so they know you and be decent looking and good at your job. #2 work on a post open floor taking care of these patients be decent looking and do a good job. #3 know some one, have a good reputation and be a drop dead gorgeous bombshell and get reference for the job, inside person you know...... #4 search for plastic surgeons in the area, call and ask if they are hiring, send resume with picture and be a ddgbs.....
There business is built on making people beautiful so most of te ones I know have model quality looking people in their offices. They pay very mediocre cause they are all money makers.
