The Placement White Board is down and it says that a significant update is imminent. So, if they are placing now how long will it be before letters hit the mailboxes?

I believe I actually heard that day through my email and just a few days later via snail mail. Did you hear anything?!?! If not, don't give up, there are usually a few who don't accept or postpone their acceptance.
