Mosey on down here to the south! You can't beat southern living. I don't know which schools are good for CRNA here, though.

The University Of Texas Health Science Center in Houston has one of the few CRNA programs in the country. It has a great reputation and if you want to do CRNA you might as well come down and do it all in Houston. Houston has plenty of nursing jobs and it is not insanely expensive like other places I've lived. Only town to avoid in the South in my opinion is Atlanta. No offense Atlanta people, I like to visit there but I think it's very expensive to live there (by southern standards, not northern city standards.)

I actually live an hour away from Houston in Galveston which is a great place to go to school because it's a smaller community and more laid back. UTMB has a great reputation as well but they do not offer a CRNA program.

But other towns with nice people and reasonable living expenses are in the South. Check out Birmingham, Mobile, Memphis, Nashville, Baton Rouge has good nursing schools from what I hear. And everyone loves San Antonio!!

Come on down to South Carolina!! Any place in the state is only 2-3 hours from the mountains or the ocean. Charleston, Columbia and Greenville-Spartanburg areas have great nursing schools and are great places to settle down and make a home.

I think in Alabama, both UAB and Samford have CRNA programs, but I could be mistaken.

Maybe one on the gulf coast as well?

Or the Univ. of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which has one of the top 5 nursing grad schools in the country. Chapel Hill is a great town (known for being "progressive"/liberal and charming/quaint, also known for basketball, and a few hours from either the beach or BEAUTIFUL mountains!). The hospital is right there at the university campus, and there are plenty of apts around. But I don't think they offer a CRNA program.
