Hello!
Just wanted to start a forum for the 2020 Fall applicants at PHSC. I have currently applied for the East/Porter campus. My composite score is an 88. I’m hoping to get in. Hope to meet others who are also applying for the Fall! Also hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this pandemic! ???
Today I got an email confirming that they have received my application! Its starting to feel real! They said that we should know by the last week of May if we got in or were placed in the wait list! ?

Hi! I’ll be sending in my application soon for Fall. Could you tell me how you figure out your composite score?
The composite score consist of your GPA + TEAS score combined and an additional 5 points if you reside within the county:
GPA/4 x .45 x 100
TEAS x .50
+ 5 (if in county)
Example:
3.7/4 x .45 x 100 = 41.62
80 x .50 = 40
You would then add both scores and the result would be your composite score in this case would be 81 or 86 if within county. Hope this helps! ?

Has anyone gotten in without taking CGS1100 or by testing out of it? Seems odd that a course for microsoft word/excel is considered a pre-req

Those were exactly my sentiments, but it was by far the EASIEST of all the pre-reqs. I took it at SPC in an eight-week express format and I promise you can complete all the assignments in 1-2 weeks. Make sure you clear with them the option to test out of this course.
Yeah, I imagine it is really simple. But I just don't know if I want to pay them $1000 for it when I already have a Bachelor's (my proof of in-state residency is technically a couple months away even though I've lived here since last June). Thanks for the response.
NP...out of state fees are painful! I'm in FL, but with the exception of CGS 1100, I took all of my pre-reqs at Odessa College in TX. I had to pay twice as much bc I needed to meet the app deadline. Well worth it...I was accepted to Polk State...waiting on PHSC's decisions. Good luck to you.
Thanks. I called PHSC and they told me that the keyboard class could be replaced with something called a CLEP test. I'm guessing it is the Information Systems one, but I didn't know what CLEP was when I was on the phone and each time I call them I get a VM. I've been looking at Polk State CONGRATS and best of luck to you, as well.
TY! I wish I had known CLEP was available for that class. Good luck with PHSC. I am so taken with their 9 month LPN-RN Bridge program. I love the thought of being done so quickly. It's probably so condensed that I wouldn't be able to work and that would make it infeasible. I guess I'll worry about that if I get accepted.
