Pharm ATI...HELP!!

Hello All,

I will be taking the Pharm ATI on Tuesday and I have to make at least a 63% to pass. I was wondering what should I focus on the most to be successful at passing this test. I've always felt very nervous about taking this ATI because the different drugs always gets jumbled in my head and it seems like I can't remember them all. For all of you who have taken this test, what areas should I really review. I have 2 practice tests and I've taken one already and made a 57% so I guess that's not to far away from my goal. I'm going to take the other one closer to the exam date. I'm also reading the ATI book, but with such little time until the test I don't think I will be able to read it all. Any advice and suggestions would be really helpful.

Thanks!!!

know your drug classes, know the endings on drugs like -lol (beta blocker) things like that, i mean at the end of the day the best thing u can really do is just review review review notecards, & drill the info into ur noggin.

dont worry, after hearing so many drugs after awhile, youlll know everything- name dose side effects mech. of action etc.

Yeah that's the stuff that I've been trying to focus on. Thanks for you input!

I haven't taken ATI - we do HESI here. But my experience has been that the practice questions are much harder than the actual test. Also, does ATI do the weighted question policy where some are worth more than others?

You probably know a lot more about pharm than you think you do. Go over your calculations. I was expecting very hard calculations, but the ones I got could be done in my head. Also, know your big drugs. Think about it - they may give you a few random drugs but chances are they want to see how safe you are at administering and teaching about very common ones. Lasix, morphine, insulin, heparin, Betalol, albuterol, ACE inhibitors. It seems like Fosomax always comes up for me. There are lots more. Think about what you've seen in clinical, especially about drugs like the beta blockers (olol's) where you need a heart rate to give, etc.

Good luck, don't freak out and think through each question.

Hello! Do you remember what you used to study or how you studied for it? Any tips on retaining the information. Much appreciated.
