You can put any liquid into the bags. Its just a bag and tubing.

Have to manually do what? Flush with water? I'm not sure what pump and/or bags you are currently using. Kangaroo bags only fit kangaroo pumps. Your question needs more information.
Perhaps you should go to the manufacturers website for the pump you are using and look for instruction manuals there.

Some kangaroo pumps can be programmed to do automatic water flushes. This relies on having the correct bag set and a compatible pump. This is not super common in my experience but it is a feature of the pump. The bags look this.
If you have never run into these the OP sounds crazy. Once the correct bag is strung in a compatible pump a "flush" option becomes available. You program in the amount and frequency you want and the volume is calculated separately from the main feed.

You have to have the right kind of pump and bags, I've seen pumps that don't have the settings to program the flush. But yes, You pour the Jevity in the bag marked "Nutrition" and the flush (usually sterile water) in the bag marked Flush.
When you prime the tubing, prime the feed first, then prime the flush bag just to the pump and you are ready to connect.
You program the volume of the feed and the rate separately from the volume of the flush and the frequency
Tip for continuous infusions: If you set the VTBI (volume to be infused) at 0 for both settings, the pump will never alarm before the bag is empty. The alarms are super loud so if your patient is sleeping, the fewer alarms the better. You have to keep an eye on the bag to make sure it doesn't go dry and always has enough milk or water in it, but you won't get pointless alarms when your volume is still fine.
You also aren't at risk of feeding your patient air since the pump will stop and alarm if you forget to refill the bag and the tubing goes dry. If this happens just fill the bags back up and re-prime the tubing like you did when you started.
