Pearson vue trick was wrong - 2016

Published

Hello!

I just wanted to briefly share my experience. I took the nclex on Thursday February 18th. I am in Pennsylvania.. Later that day I tried the pearson vue trick everyone talks about. I was able to get to the page where you fill in your credit card info and then hit next. The following page had the big red disclaimer at the top that my order wasn't processed until I hit submit which means I DIDNT get the good pop up saying that I couldn't register due to having a test already scheduled. (I didn't submit in fear of it processing and charging me the $200). I waited 24 hours and did the trick again on Friday, same thing- got all the way through all the screens to re-register. At this point I was sure I failed. My computer shut off at 130 questions and the last question I remember taking was one I was unsure of and was trying to make an educated guess.. I continually checked the pa state BON and no updates with my license. I prepared all weekend about how I would tell my boss and family that I did not pass.... Well, Monday came and my quick results were available. I honestly almost didn't even purchase them because I had done the pearson vue trick and checked the BON so many times, but something made me buy them... AND I PASSED! I couldn't believe it. The pearson vue trick is ABSOLUTELY NOT 100% accurate! Don't rely on this because it was wrong for me!! Hope this helps! Good Luck everyone!!!

You have to hit the second submit and risk $200. You didn't do the "trick" correctly. You attempted within hours after your exam (highest risk for a false "result" is within the first 24 hours before the QC scoring is complete. You MUST submit and risk a $200 charge to get the warning that you have an open registration. If you didn't submit the second accepting the risk of a non-refundable $200 registration fee you had 0% chance of getting the "good pop up".

I'm not an advocate of the trick. The "accuracy" has been significantly lower and risk of losing $200 has been significantly greater since 8/2014. But you cannot get the good pop up without risking the funds. It didn't work because you didn't follow though.

I think if you live in a state your best bet is to go to a spa, go shopping, hibernate whatever and at ~48-hrs post test take your chances with only $8 to see accurate pass/fail results. (Which is what you did by not being willing to gamble $200).

Congratulations on passing. Good luck in the job search!

Based on things I read on multiple sites it seemed people were getting the pop-up after filling out their credit card information and hitting next, not going the whole way through and submitting. Either way, I guess it doesn't much matter now. I am now waiting to see my license active on the state board website, I'm wondering how long that will take to take effect.. any insight on this?

Before 8/2014 the pop up & process was different.

Each state is different. PA is reportedly on the quicker side

Its neither here nor there, but yeah, you have to actually click submit.

Lol one of the reasons it "didn't work" was because you did it very wrong. Chances are you read a thread from before 2014. You have to hit submit to get any kind of popup, good or bad, which you never did.

These threads never get old to me haha. But congrats on your pass
