For years we had PCT's in our hospital, the only difference in the past couple of years are the PCT"S had to become certified nurses aides . Yes they do some of the duties you mention.

from what I am gathering all or most of the hospitals take pct. I am a pct at the hospital I work at but I am not certified or registered as one I am a certified cna and have been for 15 years now.but i do have a lot of other little titles under my belt as well.

Congratulations on entering the nursing field. So, will you be a Certified Nurse Aid? The largest hospital in my area only hires PCT. They don't hire CNAs. They train them like a CNA, but they don't get their CNA card.
