I currently hold my texas nursing license, that is my declared state. So I gave a compact license. My husband has orders to North Carolina, who also in the compact license. How do I go about changing where I reside, and must I give up my texas driving license. Thank you

Typically servicemembers are allowed to maintain their original driver's license during all of their moves. Believe that extends to family members, but if you formally change your address, then you will be subject to getting a new dl in the new state. Of course you should check with the DMV and the involved nursing boards.

You can still keep your Texas drivers license but will need to update the address to reflect your NC address. I am stationed in Colorado and my wife has a New York DL with our address here. Even thou NC is a compact state I would still contact the BON to see their state specific rules. If you are working for the federal government don't worry about anything because all they care about is that you are licensed.
