OK, I will try to do my best to explain what is happening to me.
I work currently at the hospital that has an RN opening. They offered me the job and gave me the dollar amount. I start Monday.
Until they fill my position at the hospital, they still want me to work part time in that position.
So two day in Nursing and two days in the business office. No problem, I can do that. BUT
they want to pay me my RN pay for the Nursing side and still pay me my rate now on the Business side.
Is that right? I feel like I am getting shorted! I could just work my 3 days as an RN and be done. Now I am working 4 and getting less pay on two of those days.
Just Confused!
To me, if they really needed my help in the Business Office, they could pay me my RN pay.

If you want to earn only RN pay, then just move on into the nursing position. I don't suppose that working for the Business Office is mandataory - it was just a request, right?
Yes, but it feels like I have to or else. They want me to train the replacement, that hasn't even interviewed for yet.

Each job has a salary attached. When you are in the business office, you are fulfilling that role, not an RN role. In order to ensure that they don't run afoul of Federal regulations or expose themselves to liability for violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act, hospitals have pretty strict compensation structures & rules in place. I think your best approach would be to enlist the aid of your new nurse manager to negotiate a firm deadline for the end of your business office role.
Congratulations on your new nursing job. You definitely have an edge over other new grads because of your greater awareness of the 'business' side of healthcare.
