pay does vary from state to state and there is a web site which can tell you pay but for life of me I can't find it. I have been told that you have to be paid on par with a US nurse of similar experience and years qualified but not sure how true that is although I am going to Phoenix and my pay does equate to my yrs of experience in the UK

Specializes in RN, BSN, CHDN.

I heard it is by the hour not like here in Uk where you get yearly wage divided down. Anything from $21-$32 an hour I read somewhere. Remember you dont get the holidays that you get in Uk and I am not sure about sick pay? If you get any or not.

Specializes in M/S/Tele, Home Health, Gen ICU.

It varies from state to state and in those states it can be different in different regions, usually related to the cost of living. In the Inland Empire (not LA) in California RNs earn from $22-$36 /hour, its generally a 36 hr week full time with a 15% differential for working nights. Hours over 12 a day are paid doubletime and it's time and a half for over 40 hrs in the week :)
