I'm thinking of getting into nursing as an RN. Around where I live it's easier to get into an LVN program so I'm thinking of doing that first. What is the pay difference? Around here the starting wage for an RN seems to be $30 an hour give or take a few $s. How much less could I expect for a LVN salary?
Thanks.

Is an LVN basically the same as an LPN? I think you should go that route first. I am an RN, and I wish I had gotten my LPN first. You learn a lot more clinical skills. With RN schooling, it's more theory based. So then if you go get a job in a hospital the LPN'S have way better clinical skills then you do. I'm not sure about the pay difference. I think most LPN's where I live make around $13/hr.

I've found google is pretty helpful here. They've indexed salary.com very well.
For example, if you type in "state (space) nursing type (space) salary" you'll usually get some results that salary.com normally tries to get you to pay for
An example would be "Arizona RN Salary" which gives:

Couldn't find anything for LVN though At least on the first page...
