Patient Care Assistant

hey guys...hopefully I will be starting nursing school in the fall. Right now I work a part time job, but I am trying to get a job at our local hospital because I would love to work in the environment and try to get a feel for what working in a hospital is like. Well I went and checked the job board in HR and the only job that I am qualified for is a Patient Care Assistant. There was a short description on the board that said you would help the RN carry out duties and whatnot to help the patient. Can anyone tell me more in detail what a PCA does? Is it comparable to a CNA without the certification? Any ideas would help! Thanks!
