Hello All!

I have a Bachelor degree in Psychology, and I am currently finishing my Masters in Business. Does it make sense to start an associates in nursing? :writing:I have heard that many nurses at this level find it hard to obtain jobs. I have applied to an accelerated B.S.N. program, I wish there was an option that imbeds Pre-reqs.

I am in California (southern) and my problem is being admitted to the science courses. My local community college has a lack of professors, and the wait list for these courses is about 50 students:dead:.

I am currently attending a private college because it was not impacted like state colleges.

What is the best way, quickest transition, to be a nurse ? (RN)I have been trying to figure this out for a decade now, and time is of the essence:banghead:. I thank you in advance for all comments :)

    The aBSN is probably your fastest route to RN. You could do your ADN, and then bridge to BSN if you chose to later. Depending on your area in SoCal, your ADN may be all you need in the job market. If you're in a major metro area, you'll want to bridge at some point. You can call HR departments in your area to get a sense of what they tend to hire.

    I would still try to take courses at the community college, and crash the courses. You never know, you may get in! It would certainly save you money!

    Nursing programs are extremely competitive, so you'll want to apply to more than one when the time comes. When you get in, you'll understand why they don't embed the prereqs. There needs to be a way to weed people out, honestly. Nursing programs are VERY fast paced, accelerated programs even more so, and a lot of the material is self-taught. Not everyone is cut out for this.
