Parking at WHC

Hello All,

Can anyone that works at WHC or knows about employee parking fill me in?

Also to the new grads, how much is your starting salary?

Thanks All :)

We have a parking lot for employees. Cost is $25/mo. We are also allowed to park in one of the garages after like 3pm or something, so most night shift people park over there. Personally, when I work nights, I like the regular employee lot because it's fairly empty because everyone else is over in the garage.

Starting salary is $27.67/ hr. There are differentials for nights and weekends. Most new grad positions are 36 hr/ wk, but there are a few- like PACU/ OR types- that do 40 hr/ wk (I believe some work 5-8s and some 4- 10s).

thank 0402...

Are the lots walkinh distance to the hospital or are shuttles necessary?

Also, I am an RN II and was offered a position at a base pay rate of 28.93. I was honestly expecting a little more being that new graduates are getting 27.67. At inova we get a 2.50 raise from RN I to RN II. Is 28.93 typical for RNII there?

Definitely walkable- I'd say about 1-2 minute walk to the hospital (though your specific unit might still be several more minutes once you're inside; it is a pretty big place).

I'm not really sure about RNII pay. I believe we go from I to II after a year of experience, but I'm really not sure about the pay difference. There is a website for WHC nurses, and I think it has pay info on it, but I'm blanking on the address. I'll try to remember it and let you know.
