I have been asked to interview with a local reputable hospital for a position after I graduate in December of 2011. This is a full ride scholarship through school with employment in agreement for tuition paid afterward, plus priority consideration for externships in the more desirable units. I am SO excited to be considered....they don't even have my complete application yet and called wanting to talk to me by phone, then offering the panel interview. Way pumped.
I will be going before a panel of six advance practice nurses from that institution. I was given their names and their specialties. What to expect? What should I ask? Advice? I would love to get this opportunity and to have the security of knowing I have employment lined up this early in the game. Thanks!

If there is an investigation, then a complaint has been received by the BON that you may have violated the nursing law in your practice, drug/alcohol abuse, felony, etc. You can find violations of the Nurse Practice Act on the website. If the BON decides you have "done something wrong" that is a violation, you will have the opportunity to present your defense but beware you could have sanctions put on your license such as: Reprimand, probation, suspension or revocation. Do not ignor any communication from the BON. It would be to your benefit to consult an attorney who has experience negotiating with the Ohio BON. Consult the nursing associations if you do not know of any.
