PALS before ACLS??

Hello I'm a new grad and RN in a CTICU. IS it ok if I take PALS before ACLS??? PALS isn't offered as much as ACLS so I'd like to take it in sept before I take ACLS in late fall.

Thanks

Justin

Its perfectly fine to do PALS before ACLS. The only prereq for PALS is a current Professional Rescuer CPR card. You will probably use ACLS more in the CTICU (unless your unit does peds also) but if PALS is offered first, take it.

I am assuming you are planning on applying to CRNA school in the future since you posted here. Some other advice I can give you is to study for the GRE now if you haven't already taken it (if you don't get 1000 take it again), get your CCRN, get instructor certification in CPR, ACLS, PALS
